This week at the launch of the BCR Youth Collective Pods Precinct, we were thrilled to reconnect with some familiar faces who are also passionate about making a difference in the Shoalhaven community. Among them were Matthew Norris from Shoalhaven City Council and Jared from Cancer Council NSW—two inspiring advocates for youth, health, and community wellbeing.

The event brought together changemakers from across the region, united by a shared goal of supporting young people through innovative projects like the Collective Pods. But the connections didn’t stop there—there’s another cause close to our hearts that’s bringing the community together: Stars of Nowra 2025.

Both Nathan Carson and Matthew Norris are proudly lacing up their dancing shoes this year, joining the lineup for Stars of Nowra 2025 in support of the Cancer Council NSW. They’re currently training with Be You Ballroom, stepping outside their comfort zones and onto the dance floor to raise vital funds for cancer research, support services, and prevention programs.

It’s a powerful reminder of how community, creativity, and compassion come together to create real impact. Every dollar raised goes directly toward helping people affected by cancer—right here in the Shoalhaven and beyond.

Let’s cheer on all the dancers as they take to the stage and help raise much-needed funds for this incredible cause. We can’t wait to see Nathan and Matthew shine on the dance floor!
