A shower chair is a vital piece of assistive equipment for individuals who struggle with standing balance, fatigue, or joint pain while bathing. By sitting while showering, clients reduce the risk of slips, conserve energy, and maintain personal hygiene safely and independently.
There are many types of shower chairs, including standard fixed models, fold-down wall-mounted chairs, and chairs with wheels. Occupational therapists assess your needs and your bathroom space to recommend the most appropriate solution.
Factors such as water drainage, height, and arm/back support are considered. We also provide training for clients and carers on how to use the equipment safely.
South Coast Therapy & Support Group offers in-home assessments and facilitates access to NDIS or My Aged Care funding. We ensure your showering routine is safe, easy, and dignified.
